The Best pizza ever, Naples, Italy

Have you ever been in Naples (Napoli) the homeland of Margherita pizza? I have, and this is a really unforgettable experience.

Naples Harbor and Mount Vesuvius

Naples is the third Italian city, with almost 1 million residents at the south of the country. The city is well-known for its gastronomy with the most Michelin stars restaurants in Italy and the motherland of the famous pizza!

As cherry on the cake, in 2017, Unesco has awarded world heritage status to the Naples art of pizza-making. It is now officially released that Naples is the homeland of Margherita pizza, the first invented pizza.

Representing the Italian flag with its three colors the red (tomatoes) the white (mozzarella) and the green (basil) this Margherita pizza is really a big monument in Naples and you can eat slices of pizza at every street corner of this city.

Margherita pizza at L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele

Note that not each Pizzeria worth it. Let me introduce you here the two best restaurants where to eat the best pizzas in the world.

L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele

Here, you've got only Pizza and only Margherita pizza! It is a very well-known restaurant so you've got to be patient or arrive early to eat one of the best pizza ever.

They will prepare each pizza in front of you and bake them on a old big pizza oven. The perfume of each pizza will help you to patient the graal, the Margherita !

The sweetness of tomatoes, the finesse of the olive oil mixed with the Mozzarella's fondant is really a paradise of flavors. Add a very fine dough and the taste of fresh basil and you've got the perfect pizza in your mouth! This is the Margherita experience at L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele.

Gino e Toto Sorbillo

This restaurant is located in the heart of the historic city center, at opening time, you can't miss it. It is where the big line-up is. Here you've got to be patient either, because of Its location this restaurant is more famous than the first one.

At Gino's you've got many choices of pizza. My favorite is the one with pesto, a Margherita baked with pesto, to accentuate the basil taste and the sweetness of tomatoes!
