I choose to introduce to you this Bakery, because it is the kind of shop I really like in Athens, a place in the city center, where you can eat something at any time, open from 8.a.m. To 10:30.p.m. and where you feel free to order a big meal for breakfast or a little pastry for lunch.

This little cafe-Restaurant is located on Ermou Street, in Monastiraki district, at about 2 min walk from the Metro station Monastiraki.

It has a quiet place upstairs. We found it during an afternoon around 4.p.m. when we walked towards our hotel, the St Bjur Hotel & Suite. Many restaurants were closed, and Meliartos had a beautiful window shop with on one side many ice-cream flavors arranged in front of us and one the other side colorful different cake which look so delicious than we decided to enter.
Inside, they've got also a salted meal buffet, which make Meliartos a really good place to introduce everyone to Greek cuisine.

We decided to go upstairs and sit in to have a tea time. They've got a large menu of pastries and we ordered one, a Galaktoboureko, one of those delicious sweet Greek pastries (for more about Greek food, check it here)

We stayed here to write and work some time. After the good experience with the galaktoboureko we decided to order a common meal, seafood pasta which was a good surprise too, with fresh mussels and one prawn on top. It wasn't the best pasta of the year, but good enough for having good memories here.

So I found this place, a great piece of quiet, with large choice of dish to reset after a long walk in one the most animated district of Athens.
